Sarah Murdoch House Concert – April 5

“To listen to Sarah Murdoch sing is to be instantaneously captivated and entranced… From the first note she will draw you in with the depth of the soulful expression she extends in every song.” – Stacey Hay, The Sentimentalist Review

Sarah Murdoch’s voice channels the power and depth of singers from another era, while maintaining a contemporary edge. Her repertoire ranges from traditional folk music to original songs that have drawn comparisons to Joan Baez, Florence Welch, and PJ Harvey. She’s performed at The Philadelphia Folk Festival, The Knitting Factory, Porch Stomp, The Folklore Society of Greater Washington, and house concerts across the northeast, but folkies may remember hearing her big voice at TradMaD or Exceedingly Good Song Night. She’s currently working on her first album, which will be released later this year.
